Worried about missing a debt in bankruptcy? Here’s how Walker & Walker helps you cover everything, even the ones you forgot about.

One of the most common questions we hear from people filing bankruptcy is:

“How do I make sure all of my debts are included?”

If you’re like many people, you may not have a complete list. Debts get sold, collection agencies change names, and bills may be going to an old address you don’t even check anymore. It’s a valid concern—but at Walker & Walker, we’ve built systems to solve it for you.

We Make Sure No Debt Is Left Behind

You don’t need to keep a perfect record. When you work with us, we take care of tracking down every debt we can possibly find. Here’s how:

  • We pull all three of your credit reports to get a full snapshot of what creditors are reporting.
  • We search national databases to locate debts that may not appear on your credit reports.
  • We meet with you multiple times to review your list and help jog your memory—because even if you only remember a company’s name or a type of bill, we can work from that.

Our team is thorough and experienced, and we know where debts tend to hide.

What If a Debt Still Gets Missed?

It’s rare, but it can happen. Maybe a creditor didn’t report to the credit bureaus, or a bill got lost in the shuffle. But here’s the good news:

In most cases, we can still add that creditor into your bankruptcy—even long after the case is filed.

As long as the debt existed before your bankruptcy was filed, it can be added at any point in the future. There’s no penalty, and Walker & Walker adds it for free.

We also check in with you after your case is filed to make sure no new names pop up in your mail or credit reports that need to be added.

Filing Bankruptcy Shouldn’t Be Overwhelming

We know bankruptcy is a big step. But it shouldn’t be a stressful one—especially not when it comes to tracking every last debt. With Walker & Walker:

  • You don’t have to do it alone.
  • You don’t need a perfect list.
  • And you don’t need to worry about missed debts.

Let our Minneapolis bankruptcy team take care of the details and give you the fresh financial start you deserve.
